STOP WAR WITH IRAN IN 2020
On January 3rd, 2020, U.S. President Donald Trump assassinated two top military figures of foreign countries. He ordered a drone strike against the Major General of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Qasem Soleimani. He also killed Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units leader, Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandes, a very popular Iraqi military official who helped lead the war against ISIS.
The White House claimed that it was necessary to preempt an attack orchestrated by Soleimani.
So far virtually no credible public evidence has been produced to support this view.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Iraq has provided detailed evidence contradicting this point of view.
The truth is that the acting Iraqi Prime Minister, Adil Abdul-Mahdi, invited Soleimani to Iraq for diplomatic purposes. Soleimani had traveled to Baghdad to deliver a message back from Iran to Saudi Arabia about a proposal to lower tensions in the region. There can be no doubt that the Trump Administration would have known about Iran’s ongoing negotiations with Saudi Arabia, one of its closest allies, which were mediated by the Iraqi government, which was also operating closely and communicating frequently with Washington. So this means that the White House and the Pentagon knew full well when they ordered the air strike to kill him, that Soleimani was traveling to Iraq for peaceful purposes.
The Trump Administration's duplicity in this matter has not been largely discussed by the American media.
DISASTROUS RESULTS OF TRUMP'S KILLING OF FOREIGN LEADERS
Since the assassination of these important military figures, hundreds of thousands of people in both Iran and Iraq have taken to the streets in protest. A million people attended Soleimani's funeral. Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, wept in prayer and vowed vengeance.
